The Board of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has confirmed the reallocation of 16 fixtures previously run at Chelmsford City Racecourse following the entering into administration earlier this year of Great Leighs Estates Ltd (GLEL).
Of the 16 fixtures, 12 had been allocated to the racecourse since its re-opening in 2015, while a further four were granted by the BHA Board in 2025.
The administrators of GLEL have been able to sell those original 12 fixtures, with the BHA Board now confirming their allocation to Jockey Club Racecourses following the culmination of that process.
The remaining four fixtures were returned to the BHA as part of their original terms and conditions. Following the approval in principle of a licence for ARC to stage racing at Chelmsford City from next month, the BHA Board has confirmed that these four fixtures have been allocated to ARC to take place at Chelmsford.
The BHA is working with Jockey Club Racecourses and Arc to agree the placing of these 16 fixtures within the 2027 fixture list and further updates will be published in due course when these details are confirmed.
