Seven reasons to nominate for the 2018 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards

With only seven days to go to nominate for the 2018 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards, here are seven reasons you really have to nominate!

  1. There is over 拢125,000 of prize money on offer 鈥� this includes up to 拢40,000 available for a single yard or stud, with prize money also available for the runners up and additional prizes on offer, dependant on the category.
  2. It isn鈥檛 just the winners who benefit 鈥� Much of the prize money on offer is split between the winner and their yard or stud, meaning the whole team can benefit from those who are lucky enough to win an award.
  3. Finalists get to attend one of the highlights of racing鈥檚 calendar 鈥� the event will be hosted by ITV Racing鈥檚 Ed Chamberlin at the Jumeriah Carlton Hotel in Knightsbridge, London on Monday 19 February 2018.
  4. And meet some of racing鈥檚 best known personalities 鈥� previous presenters on the night have included Frankie Dettori, A P McCoy and Clare Balding!
  5. You get to recognise the hard work of racing staff 鈥� Nominations are a great way to acknowledge the hours of hard work put in behind the scenes by stud and stable staff throughout the course of the year.
  6. It can be a great advert for your yard, stud or business 鈥� Finalists and winners get a chance to talk about how much they enjoy their work, with the awards getting plenty of regional and national media coverage.
  7. It鈥檚 easy to do – The nomination period closes on Tuesday 21 November and is available to trainers online via the Racing Administration website. Breeders, owners, colleagues and managers can also download a nomination form via and .

1.聽聽 The awards are sponsored by Godolphin and run by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) in association with the Racing Post. The categories are:

  • Leadership Award
  • Dedication Award
  • Rider/Groom Award
  • Stud Staff
  • Rory MacDonald Community Award
  • David Nicholson Newcomer Award (for those who have entered racing within the last聽three听测别补谤蝉)
  • Employee of The Year

2. The 鈥楻ory MacDonald Community Award鈥� acknowledges those who support the stud and stable staff or have made an outstanding contribution to benefit the wider racing community. The Awards provide an opportunity for the racing industry to highlight and thank the hard work put in by stud and stable staff across the country, and this award in particular acknowledges people who have had a positive impact on their community.

3. The winner of each of the first four categories will receive a prize of 拢5,000 with an additional 拢5,000 also being awarded to the winner鈥檚 yard or stud. Two runners-up in each of these categories will win 拢2,000 each, with the same amount going to their yard or stud.

4.聽 The winner of the Rory MacDonald Community Award will receive 拢5,000, with the same going to a charity of their choice. The two runners-up will receive 拢2,000, with the same going to a charity of their choice.

5. The winner of the David Nicholson Newcomer Award will receive 拢2,000, with the same amount going to their yard or stud, while two runners-up will receive 拢1,000 each, with the same amount for their yard. There is an additional prize for the winner of the David Nicholson Newcomer Award, which includes return flights, a five day educational tour of Dubai together with five nights鈥� accommodation.

6. The Awards will also recognise an Employee of the Year, who will be selected from the winners of the first four categories. That winner will receive an additional prize of 拢15,000, with the same amount going to their yard or stud.
